Problem:
SaunaKing Products has been manufacturing sauna rooms and sauna products since 1995. On March 2007 the company decided to open an office in the United States to manage all their US customers and partners. Their US website was limited on functionality and didn't allow for online orders, wholesale account registrations or adding and updating content, which caused most customers to leave the site without buying or requesting more information. Moreover, the site was not optimized for search engines and had missing pages and wrong links.

Solution:
After studying the current website, we proposed a new eCommerce solution for SaunaKing Products. The new website was designed using neutral colors (to match the soothing feeling of a sauna) with easy to use navigation. We also developed a backend system for SaunaKing Products to manage their products, pages, policies, orders and customers data. After the site was developed and published was started marketing for it on all major search engines and shopping networks.

Phases:
  1. Design: Since sauna rooms and products are health products, neutral colors and design flow was selected for the website with a strong focus on the company punch line. We provided SaunaKing Products with four different design to choose from and revised the chosen design to their liking; yet keeping the goal and marketing value of the website visible. Since sauna products are not a common house hold item and somewhat of a large investment, the website contains a lot of educational information about sauna rooms and products to help the customer with any questions they might have.

Estimated Design Time: 5 business days.

  2. Development: The website was developed to insure the customers and site administrators interactions with the website and each other as easy as possible. Since SaunaKing Products sells to customers and wholesalers as the same time, we developed a multi price structure for customers and different partners type. The administrator backend was developed to allow SaunaKing Products employees to manage all their orders and customers information directly from the website and the ability to export any data they need. Finally, we integrated Google Checkout (level 2) and Paypal payment options in the checkout beside the standard Credit Cards and Check payment options.

    Pricing Structure
Estimated Development Time: 18 business days.

  3. Marketing: The finally stage was marketing for the website, the website was launched early July and we started marketing for it right away. We started by listing the products on all the major shopping networks such as PriceGrabber, NexTag, Shopping.com, Shopzilla and Yahoo and Google Shopping Networks. Also, we started CPC campaigns on Google, Yahoo and MSN live search engines. Soon after that we started an SEO campaign by building back-links to the website and optimizing the content accordingly.

    Estimated Marketing Time: ongoing.
